CEDARSTONE BANK COCKTAIL PARTY

food celebrate.jpg

For the second year in a row,  CedarStone Bank sponsored our  elegant "Celebrate Spring" cocktail party.  On the evening of April 27st.

Fite-Fessenden patrons were treated to a delicious buffet, live music, a silent auction, and a live auction for a seated, four course brunch for 20 prepared and served by Year Round Garden Club.

At the party this year, Dr. Tara Mielnik's Museum Studies students from Cumberland University served as docents in each room.  The students, who had used the museum as a laboratory during Spring semester, shared what they had learned about life in Lebanon in the late 1800's.

"Celebrate Spring" guests listen to comments from bank president Bob McDonald as they gather under the festive tent, erected at the last minute because of those pesky April showers.
Even the weather man couldn't dampen the spirits at Fite-Fessenden House!  Total for the night: over $15,000 and LOTS of fun.

HISTORY ASSOCIATES AND DAR SPONSOR HIGH TEA

On June 6,  2021 we celebrated Miss Sallie Fessenden's birthday AND the State of Tennessee's birthday at our second High Tea to Go.  This year, we offered a hybrid version: some guests used the Drive Thru feature while others enjoyed tea in the fresh air of the back garden.  All in all, it was lots of fun and a great success!  Thanks to all who helped.

Guests celebrate a beautiful early summer day at High Tea.  Money raised from this event supplied the matching funds for the $8,900 grant from the Tennessee Historic Commission and will be used to restore the wooden elements on three sides of Fite-Fessenden House.

Everything at Fite-Fessenden is looking better these days...including the pea gravel drive.  Thanks to Hall Bone at Horizon for making the arrangements for spreading the gravel  and to our donors for making this upgrade possible.
